Welcome back SC Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, & Jazztet!

I am very much looking forward to another year of music making with you. This semester will be especially exciting, as all of our music ensembles at SC will be presenting our Inaugural Concerts in the new Concert Hall of the Whitney Center for the Arts! I have some special musical material planned for these concerts that I think you will enjoy…;)

FIRST REHEARSALS
Due to the final phase of construction in W-137 (our Instrumental Rehearsal Studio), we will begin rehearsals in the SECOND week of classes.

I’m excited to announce that SCJE will play a short 15-ish minute set to open the concert for the world famous Glenn Miller Orchestra!

7.00p, WCA Concert Hall
“SC Ensembles Gala”
President Young has asked all of our SC music ensembles to perform in concert to officially open the new WCA Concert Hall. We haven’t been fully briefed on the desired specifics of this concert ;) , but please hold the date. I expect that each group will play a very short 1 -2 piece segment to provide an overview of our ensembles program.

NEW SC STUDENT MUSICIANS!
I’m excited to announce that we have ELEVEN new (and some kinda “new” :) first-year Sheridan College students who will be participating in our SC Bands program. I know that all of you will make them feel welcome at our first rehearsals:
